Engomi is an urban municipality situated in the central part of Cyprus (Nicosia district). It was founded in February 1986. The town has a population of 16,000 and its economy is mainly based on the Industrial, Services and Commerce sectors. Engomi has worked as a partner on European projects and currently participates in the “Active Access” project with the University of Nicosia. Our municipality is well known for the famous monastery of Kykkos. Engomi also hosts the premises of the Cyprus State Fair (EXPO) where the annual CYPRUS INTERNATIONAL FAIR is held since 1976. The Municipality of Engomi is currently in the procedure of signing the Covenant of Mayors (www.eumayors.eu). Engomi is interested in new partnerships, as well as participating in projects on the following themes: culture, research, e-government, environment and medicine.
