Latsia is an urban municipality situated in the central part of Cyprus (Nicosia district). The oldest tracings of civilisation in Latsia are to be found in a small structure and a reservoir, dating back to the Hellenistic age (325-50 BC). The Municipality itself was founded in 1985. The town has a population of 15,000 (80% of the population are Cypriot refugees) and its economy is mainly based on the services sector.
