For some of these documents (see below in bold), you can also request a <u>multilingual standard form<\/u> to avoid translation requirements and, in any case, a certified translation made in any EU Member State must be accepted.<\/p>\n<p>The exemption from legalisation and the apostille formality only applies to documents and their certified copies issued by the public authorities of a Member State and presented to the public authorities of another Member State. Such are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>documents emanating from a court or a court official;<\/li>\n<li>administrative documents;<\/li>\n<li>notarial acts;<\/li>\n<li>official certificates placed on private documents;<\/li>\n<li>diplomatic and consular documents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Furthermore, the exemption applies only to documents establishing one or more of the facts listed below. Entries in bold indicate that there is a multilingual standard form available for such documents. Please note that not all standard forms are issued in all Member States.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>birth<\/li>\n<li>death<\/li>\n<li>a person being alive<\/li>\n<li>name<\/li>\n<li>marriage, capacity to marry and marital status<\/li>\n<li>divorce, legal separation or marriage annulment<\/li>\n<li>registered partnership, capacity to enter into a registered partnership and registered partnership status<\/li>\n<li>dissolution of a registered partnership, legal separation or annulment of a registered partnership<\/li>\n<li>parenthood or adoption<\/li>\n<li>domicile and\/or residence<\/li>\n<li>nationality<\/li>\n<li>absence of a criminal record<\/li>\n<li>standing as candidates or voting in elections to the European Parliament or in municipal elections in another Member State<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A multilingual standard form can only be used in another Member State and must be presented together with the public document to which it is attached.<\/p>\n<p>Where a Member State permits the presentation of a <u>certified copy<\/u> of a public document instead of the original, the authorities of that Member State must accept a certified copy made in the Member State where the public document was issued.<\/p>\n<p>More information on the Regulation and the multilingual standard forms can be found in the European e-Justice Portal:<a href=\"https:\/\/beta.e-justice.europa.eu\/551\/EN\/public_documents?init=true\">https:\/\/beta.e-justice.europa.eu\/551\/EN\/public_documents?init=true<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":151,"featured_media":0,"parent":4407,"menu_order":16,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-8731","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
